Shopulator 1.6.1 Released

A bug fix release has been published to the Android Market. This release addresses some issues experienced by some users of Shopulator where new items would not save and the export button would seem to do nothing. Thanks to Christina for helping me pin it down!

Shopulator 1.6 Released

Another Shopulator update has been released to the Android Market.

New in Shopulator 1.6:

Support for Android 1.6 (Donut) (fixed options bug)
Import/Export feature (in options)
Move & Copy items between lists
Vibration feedback
Visual tweaks on item entry screen
Price defaults to blank instead of “0″
Option: Hide prices when they are 0.00
Option: Show amount remaining
Lots of other little fixes and changes

I’ve also added a new “Shopulator Donation” app to provide a simple way for people to donate $1.00 to show support. This is of course entirely optional, but all of your support is greatly appreciated! The donate link at the website is still here for anyone wishing to donate an amount other than $1.00.

Shopulator 1.1 Released

An update to Shopulator has been posted to the Android Market.

Shopulator 1.1 Changelog:

Added currency option; choose between dollars, pounds, euros and yen.
Removed default “0.00″ price on the item entry screen for faster keying
Improved list scrolling performance
Added FAQs section to the options menu

Thank you for all of the feedback sent in so far! Please continue sending in suggestions and comments. Two popular requests right now seem to be barcode scanning and a screen keyboard. Taken from the FAQ:

Can you add barcode scanning for item prices?
Unfortunately, since barcodes only contain UPC codes, there is no way for Shopulator to pull item pricing data from them (especially from local grocery markets). While some price scanning applications exist (like ShopSavvy), they typically work for items where pricing can be found online, usually for electronics. Unfortunately, that kind of information isn’t really possible with things such as canned peas and bananas.

Can you add an on-screen soft keyboard?
Since an official keyboard will be included in the next major Android update (Cupcake), Shopulator will simply take advantage of that standard soft-keyboard when it is released, which hopefully will be soon!

Simply enter in the current selling price of each item on your list, the quantity you’d like to buy, and Shopulator keeps track of the totals for you. No more guesswork necessary! Prepare your list ahead of time by reviewing your local circulars, or just plug in the cost while shopping at the store. Shopulator is fast, simple and efficient to keep you moving without much slowdown.
